hellohello, i have been gone a long time. Pretty much knocked flat by tiredness, work and uni applications.

This is what I have been up to:

I have been on this thing everyday twice a day...

with me new chum Phaedra.

Made lots of work (print making is my favourite)

Went to Phil and Libby's beautiful wedding, stayed with friends and sneaked in a quick trip to London Galleries with Dad.

And yesterday spend half the day seeing my beautiful sissy and today with lovely Amy.

Friday was deadline day for my application, got it in just in time, a weight has been lifted- hoorah.

Autumn is here! tomorrow is the first day! How beautiful are the orange leaves in falmouth already. Tomorrow we venture to Gwithian beach to create 'sand drawings' of famous art, on huge scale to be seen from above, exciting! We are asked to bring garden tools, so i'll be taking my beautiful garden fork on the train tomorrow, cant wait. Problem is I can currently hear very heavy rain, hopefully this will stop before tomorrow or they will have some rather soggy, unhappy sneezing students to deal with, and we will no doubt have sand allover our clothes eek! i hope the sun comes out!

This week has been mad and good and bad. These are parts of two strange but fun 5 hour drawing days that we did, who knew drawing for an entire day could tire you out so much. It's been a blur of early starts, train times, walking up and down hills between buildings, heavy bags, lectures and drawing on big scales. blur is the word. Hopefully next week everything will have calmed down a bit, I begin on monday morning with a full day of measured drawing. If you've never done it before, it's the kind of drawing that frustrates and makes your vision fail you about an hour in, you have to really really look and be as correct as possible, some love it, i am not sure how or why.

This monday my dad gave me his old iphone, and got my contract changed for it somehow, extremely lucky! how lovely are these hipstamatic prints, i wish my film camera produced the same beautiful haphazard effects.

This morning i have done nothing at all, it has been bliss. Drinking tea and listening to this beautiful song (its starts about 50 seconds in)

This afternoon i am planning my colonel mustard outfit for tomorrow's cluedo party at my sisters, and Amy moves into her new home for the year so i am going to help her get sorted. Exciting!

today it began, we sat in the lecture hall all day listening to talks about library, health and safety and counselling, joy of joys. tomorrow the drawing begins 9-5. 'intense' year it shall be. eee i love new sketchbooks!

Summer is over. Considering locking myself away or running off to somewhere quiet and

beautiful? Back to Florence? Foundation sounds like a horrible idea this evening. I could

quite easily become a hermit. Anyway, onwards, despite this current feeling.

Holiday

This has been a week of beach, sun and staying with much loved friends. Seeing Shana before she goes off to uni and hearing all her lovely news and the exciting things she's beginning. Very needed. It has been so good to see her and her family. Now i have a week before the college routine begins. Yikes this summer has gone so quickly and little or no energy has been gained, a huge changes have been made and are yet to come. BUT autumn is on it's way. I've started to see some crunchy leaves, big flocks of starlings and it's starting to get dark early. eee! I love autumn, and my new mustard yellow knitted jumper. Now to finish my commission. I hope today is the day finished.

1. I love to notice the unnoticed, quiet and beautiful. To be inspired and collect.

I found all these things on long rambling walks or in the hedge, on the street or in our tiny garden, for an extremely exciting textiles project. I still have most of them in tins and jars around my room like flowers or jewellery "Natural curiosities" I like to call them.

I am blessed with a beautiful view from my bedroom window which never ceases to amaze me.

2. I love to make. These are my Shoes about sisters and handmade poppy heads.

Trapped flowers in my own (wibbelywobbly) handmade felt with lots of lace and embroidery. And spindly, tall poppy heads. Delicate is the answer.

3. I love love paint. Colour mixing is my favourite thing. I thoroughly enjoy forcing my sisters to be my beautiful models, and getting paint on all of my nice dresses (always accidentally may i add, but this is something i should be more concerned about). I recently bought myself an easel, I felt triumphant and we carried the huge thing out of the shop, possibly the best thing i've ever bought. Long shall the geekery continue i hope. Painting is also the cause of much frustration i.e. i've been working on one for almost 3 months, and cant get it right. Battle.

ps. today i wrecked my ipod touch by dropping it out of the car as i opened the door, the whole (already cracked) screen was shattered and now shows only white, un fixable i think :(. I wish i was less clumsy!!

This day has gone so quickly, i miss my closest friend, our small adventures and baking disasters.

This next month is definitely going to be hectic, with her moving (closer!!) and me travelling everyday to falmouth for foundation.

Hmm, dates need to be set. Desserts need to be planned (lemon meringue pie!) or else we'll never see each other.

' Foundation' what i'm doing for the next year, it's a year of art before uni, an extra qualification, trip to berlin in december, and doing all sorts of things crammed into 29 weeks. Should be fun, and tiring. We'll see how it goes i start in 2 weeks. :)

i miss winter.

Right now, i wish it was winter. I miss the crisp mornings and icy puddles and putting on as many layers as possible. It's my default when putting on an outfit to stay warm, which doesn't really work in the sticky grey non summery summer days we've been having. I wore a big knitted scarf yesterday and felt completely at home, time for a change of season me thinks?
